Let me start this post by saying happy new year to you my beautiful readers and supporters. It’s the first of January 2018 and it’s that time when we reflect on the past year and set goals for the new one.

In this post I am going to do just a simple recap of the blog posts I have published throughout 2017. This is going to be a celebratory post. Of course things were far from perfect but at this moment I am on a wave of positivity and I am not going to even allow myself to think about anything negative.

So let’s go guys. Oh before I get into it let me know in the comments section what some of your 2017 highlights were.

So 2017 got off to a slow start and I didn’t publish my first post until the 14th of February. It was my 6 months post relaxer transitioning update and  it was also the first YouTube video I did for the year. It’s so surreal that I still had relaxed hair in February and here I am now fully natural.

My next post was inspired by a very public incident here in Jamaica and it spoke to the topic of Poverty Shaming. Something that not many people even noticed. To date it’s one of the posts I am most proud of because advocating for the poor is something that I care deeply about.

Up next was a review of the best leave in conditioner for transitioning hair. I wrote that post in March and there was a very long break after. At this point I don’t even remember why  exactly I didn’t write for so long. Anyway  July rolled around and I got tired of transitioning and did the big chop!

Whew! Finally I had to share and that really got the ball a rolling for the rest of the year. I didn’t film by whole big chop process but I did do a post telling you all about the reactions to my big chop.

From then on I had the most consistent couple of months on my blog. Looking back I am so so proud of myself!  I did a comparative review of the Ecostyler Black Castor and Flaxseed Oil Gel and the Ecostyler Olive oil Gel , a post answering follow up questions on a defined wash and go tutorial I had posted on my Youtube channel and I wrote a post sharing the curly hair products i am dying to try all in the month of August!

In September I shared my tips on Maintaining Healthy Natural Hair on  a Budget.

October was my most active month. I shared both hair and lifestyle related posts. Hair-wise I shared  My Post Big Chop Natural Hair Wash Day Routine and my Quick Wash and Go Formula, my first protein treatment on my natural hair as well as how I get rid of white residue and crunch from my wash and gos.

In October I also shared some lifestyle posts and got great reception so I am definitely going to be sharing some more in 2018. They were my experince visiting Holywell Park here in Jamaica as well as how meditation played a huge roll in saving my mental health.

In November I also shared both lifestyle and hair related posts.  I  published my most read post of the year – *drumroll please* – Top Ten Reasons Why Your Wash and Go is Coming Out Wrong. This post got so many views and I am so thankful I was able to help those persons who were having issues getting their wash and gos right. Other posts I shared throughout November included how to get rid of dandruff naturally, a review of the Ettenio Moisture Infusion Deep Conditioner (which is now my favourite), Social Media Envy, 5 Months Post Big Chop Length Check, and a Naturalista’s Christmas Gift Guide/Wishlist.

A Naturalista Christmas Gift Guide. A guide for persons looking to buy the perfect gift for a natural haired person/ naturalista. Marsha's Journey

And that was it for the the year. I dropped the ball big time throughout December. Lets just say I had a bad case of the holiday blues and I just was not up to the task. All in all I am pleased with my work throughout the year. Just going through each post for the sake of this review I saw the improvement on my posts as the months went on.

I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to every single person who read a post, watched a video, shared a pin, left a comment, a message, followed me on my social pages. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support throughout 2017. Love you all. Kisses!
